Vietnam's Forest Products Exports Increased The Most In The First Quarter

According to the Forestry Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the export value of forest products reached 922 million US dollars in March this year, and the export volume in the first quarter of this year was raised to 2.4 billion US dollars, an increase of 18%. In the first quarter of this year, the export value of forest products reached the highest in the first quarter of this year.


The export value of forest products was 922 million US dollars, and the export value of wood and wood products reached 2.26 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10%. The trade surplus reached 1.82 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 19%.


The main export markets for Vietnamese forest products are the United States, Japan, the European Union, China and South Korea, accounting for 87% of total forest products exports.


Recently, the Prime Minister of the Vietnamese government has issued No. 8 directive on several tasks for the timber and non-timber forest products processing industry for the export of fast sustainable development services, which proposes to develop the wood and non-wood forest products processing industry into Vietnamese manufacturing in the next 10 years. And the export of the fist industry; to create Vietnamese wooden products and non-timber forest products brand, and strive to build Vietnam into the world's wood products and non-timber forest products production, processing and exporting countries and other goals.


At present, various localities in Vietnam continue to implement the 2019 forestry plan indicators and continue to promote afforestation and afforestation.
